     Clearest.] [OE. cler, cleer, OF. cler, F. clair, fr.L.
     clarus, clear, broght, loud, distinct, renownwd; perh. akin
     to L. clamare to call, E. claim. Cf. Chanticleer,
     Clairvoyant, Claret, Clarufy.]
     1. Free from opaqueness; transparent; bright; light;
        luminous; unclouded.
